About Us

Settlers Federal Credit Union was established in 1932 by a small group of local farmers who had a difficult time getting financing to plant their crops or feed their livestock. The beginning financial reports showed assets of $750.00. We continue to believe in serving our communities and providing financial services.

On November 1, 2007 we changed from a state chartered credit union to a federally chartered credit union. In April 2008 we moved into a new main office building.

Membership:

Settlers Federal Credit Union is a community charter credit union serving people who live, work, worship or attend school in; and businesses and other legal entities located in Ontonagon or Gogebic Counties.

We believe in the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” and look forward to sharing our credit union and its services with you.

Vision:

The vision of Settlers Federal Credit Union is to be the financial institution of choice and to provide opportunities to the people in our area that they may not otherwise have been able to enjoy.

Mission:

Our mission is to insure the liquidity, stability, and growth of our Credit Union, so we will be here to serve our present and future membership and fulfill our vision.
